This survey was sent to arts and culture nonprofits headquartered in the City of Atlanta in order to gauge their current financial health.
Across the Atlanta region are over 1,700 arts and cultural nonprofit organizations.
The 1,700+ cultural nonprofits in Metro Atlanta generated had revenues of $632,676,988.
In 2023, Georgia is tied for last in the country in per capita spending on the arts.
Over the last decade, Georgia has consistently ranked last or near last in the nation in government arts funding.
An open letter from 38 Atlanta arts leaders
In March, a diverse group of 38 Atlanta arts leaders banded together to write an open letter that discusses the challenges of surviving the pandemic, which has proven to be “the biggest disruption to the American Arts sector in history, and the most destructive since the Great Depression.”
